Woolworths, Coles price manipulation claims come at tough time for BCA

Woolworths and Coles risk undermining corporate Australia’s efforts to position itself as a critical plank of economic prosperity and defend itself from populist criticism and demands for more regulation of the country’s biggest businesses.

That is the view of Liberal and Labor MPs, who said allegations that the supermarket giants told shoppers they had dropped prices when they had actually increased them made it more difficult to accept those arguments from the business lobby.
