Women and Queenslanders look like being the losers as the Labor government searches for a new High Court chief justice, and a new judge, to replace Susan Kiefel in November.
The list of likely contenders indicates Chief Justice Kiefel’s retirement will end the historic majority of women on the court after only 13 months – and the unbroken run of judges from the Sunshine State since 1970.
