Whoever wins power at the election looks set to face an emboldened and expanded crossbench of Greens and independent MPs who will demand tougher action on the environment and real tax reform.
Greens leader Adam Bandt – who steered the party to a record result in 2022 – aims for the party to hold its three lower house seats in Queensland and push out Labor MPs in the marginal Melbourne seats of Wills and McNamara. It is also targeting Richmond in northern NSW, Sturt in South Australia and the seat of Perth.
