The Liberal candidate for Chisholm has distanced herself from allegedly homophobic remarks, raising the question of what Chinese-Australian voters want this federal election.

Gladys Liu, who campaigned against the Safe Schools Program and the same-sex marriage plebiscite, told The Guardian in 2016 that Chinese people viewed these issues as "ridiculous rubbish".
