Rio de Janeiro, Brazil | Australia and its allies were blocked from expressing concerns about Ukraine and the Middle East at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit, after Russia and China led efforts to stop any mention in the final communique.
Although APEC is an economic summit, Australia and others – the US included – argued the conflicts were having a direct effect on the global economy.
