WA warns Albanese’s ‘nature positive’ will extend far beyond mining
The West Australian premier has warned the Albanese government against installing another layer of environmental approvals via its controversial “nature positive” rules, which business says will hurt the mining, property and agricultural industries.
The proposal, which Labor says will create a federal environmental protection agency and deliver “net positive” environmental outcomes, has stoked major unease across the mining state.
