The Victorian Liberal Party hopes a different type of candidate can help it wrest power from an entrenched Labor government at the state election in November: former police officers.
While details of ALP candidates in some seats remain a mystery, and the Greens have a co-ordinated social media campaign backing their inner-city candidates, the Liberal Party has chosen four former members of the police force to burnish its law and order credentials. It already has two former police officers in Parliament.
