Spend enough time around politicians, and you’ll hear plenty of interesting attempts to spin a bad situation. But Victoria’s Suburban Rail Loop Minister Danny Pearson’s latest efforts deserve special mention.

In August 2022, the federal government’s independent assessor for road and rail funding, Infrastructure Australia, received an investment case from the state government for the first phase of its $34.5 billion Suburban Rail Loop.
