Trump ideological vetting of local uni research a ‘slippery slope’

A leading academic has warned the Trump administration’s demand that Australian university researchers declare any links to China and if they comply with the president’s two-sex policy is an ideological vetting of research projects and amounts to foreign interference.

Emeritus Professor Roy Green, the special innovation adviser at the University of Technology Sydney, said the 36-point questionnaire sent to Australian researchers who receive funding from US federal agencies was a harbinger of anti-science prejudice.
