-- Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a $20 million pledge to get more tourists into breweries, distilleries, and cellar doors.

-- Morrison promised $30 million for a swimming pool and recreation centre in the northern Perth electorate of Pearce which is being vacated by former Liberal cabinet minister Christian Porter.

-- Morrison accused Labor leader Anthony Albanese of having no policies and doing less since he has been out of isolation than when he was in it. Earlier in the day he attacked his character and leadership style as being ‘weak’.

-- In Tasmania, Albanese pledged to keep sport on free TV, rather than behind the paywalls of global streaming companies. The Labor leader led a campaign rally in Tasmania earlier in the day. He denied media reports that suggested he was on the path to a $10b budget blow out.

-- The Greens announced an artists funding pilot program called The Artists Wage. 10,000 established or emerging artists and arts workers will be free to create, while they are paid $772.60 per week for one year, costing $277.5 million.

-- Former Labor leader and shadow minister Bill Shorten tested positive for COVID-19. He hoped to be back campaigning for the final week of the election campaign.

-- Three executives from Star Entertainment resigned overnight following a NSW inquiry into the company’s suitability to run its Sydney casino.
