Everyone has by now heard of teal candidates making life difficult for big-city Liberal MPs like Josh Frydenberg.

But in Hinkler – a regional agriculture, tourism and sea-change seat that stretches up the Queensland coast from Harvey Bay to Bundaberg – there might be a similar battle unfolding. Only this time, the challenger is better described as “brown”.
