It is a battle between two local government politicians for a federal seat held since 2013 by the nation’s most renowned retiring MP.

Such has been the turn of events in the past three years, the electorate of Pearce in Perth’s northern suburbs, held by the Liberal Party’s retiring former attorney-general Christian Porter, is considered in play, despite the incumbent’s more than 5 per cent margin.
