Teals lose North Sydney in NSW shake-up, Bennelong turns Liberal
The Federation seat of North Sydney will be abolished under a redistribution of federal electorates in NSW, leaving teal independent Kylea Tink without a job while putting Labor in trouble in the seat of Bennelong and one seat closer to minority government.
The abolition of North Sydney, established in 1901 and once held by former treasurer Joe Hockey, follows the recent decision to abolish the seat of Higgins in Victoria, also held by a former Liberal treasurer, Peter Costello.
