The parents of killer Joel Cauchi are “heartbroken” for the victims of the Westfield Bondi attack, saying they believe their son was in a psychosis when he murdered six people.

Their comments come as Chinese student Cheng Yixuan was the sixth victim named in the killing spree in Saturday’s attack in Sydney, and it was revealed she phoned her fiancé just minutes before the stabbings.
