Stolen generations survivors to receive $75,000
Prime Minister Scott Morrison will establish a $380 million reparations scheme for members of the stolen generations removed from families in Commonwealth territories, several months after hundreds of survivors launched a class action against the federal government.
Under the redress scheme, eligible survivors will receive a one-off $75,000 payment in recognition of the harm caused by their forced removal, plus a further $7000 to support their healing.
