Sport Australia complained to the office of Bridget McKenzie that its independence was being compromised by the minister ignoring its recommendations for funding community organisations, according to emails obtained by the ABC.
The documents, for the first time, detail which clubs and organisations missed out on funding, including two highest-rated applications which were overlooked in favour of one which rated just 50 out of 100 on an assessment score.
