Secrecy laws don’t apply to national cabinet: judge

A Federal Court judge has rejected Scott Morrison’s attempt to exempt the powerful national cabinet from freedom of information laws by claiming the body is a committee of his own cabinet.
The decision means national cabinet and the influential Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), the chief medical advisers to government, are not covered by Cabinet secrecy laws.
