Scott Morrison says he doesn't believe gay people will go to hell and has attacked Labor for seeking to distract the election campaign with religious and moral questions.

Campaigning in Perth on Monday, the Prime Minister was asked if his views on same-sex marriage had changed since the Coalition's 2017 postal survey and if his faith meant he believed "gay people go to hell".
