SA premier wades into states’ feud over AUKUS nuclear waste

Barrow-in-Furness, England | South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas has hit back at his Victorian and WA counterparts’ call for his state to host the nuclear waste from the future fleet of AUKUS submarines.

Mr Malinauskas did not rule out SA hosting it. But as he visited Britain to size up the job of building a nuclear submarine shipyard from scratch in his state, he said the waste should go “where it is in the nation’s interest to put it”.
