Risks of significant climate divestments increasing, says RBA

The costs for emissions-intensive sectors will continue to rise as investors adjust to climate change risks, the Reserve Bank of Australia says, as it warned of the growing risk of “significant” climate divestments.

The central bank said the investor shift would happen irrespective of whether people thought it was “fair or appropriate”, and if not managed properly would increase the likelihood of capital outflows from Australia.
