Religious freedom to dominate pre-election politics
An inquiry into Scott Morrison’s controversial religious freedom laws will dominate the lead-up to the federal election campaign, with Labor opting to withhold its final position until February.
Business leaders and equality campaigners are preparing to push for changes to the so-called statement of belief clause, warning that rules allowing discriminatory comments to occur if they are made “in good faith” could still create disharmony in workplaces.
