Teal independent Zoe Daniel will get her wish – in part – for an official recount of votes in the Melbourne seat of Goldstein, while Bradfield voters could end up back at the polls as an excruciatingly slim margin in the tightest race of the election slipped by one to seven votes.
The Australian Electoral Commission said on Monday it would recount first preference votes for the Liberals’ Tim Wilson and Daniel, as well as votes ruled informal after “some discrepancies” were found in the count for the Melbourne bayside suburb seat.
