‘Rank hypocrisy’: Farrell under fire over Labor US appointment
Trade Minister Don Farrell says the former union ally he appointed to an overseas diplomatic post, pushing out a highly qualified public servant, has “extensive experience” in government, defence and technology and deserves the job.
Chris Ketter was appointed as Australia’s consul-general and trade and investment commissioner in San Francisco in July. A former Queensland senator, he has worked as an adviser to Defence Minister Richard Marles since losing his seat in 2019.
