Political pile-ons could get in the way of vaccine rollout

The point-scoring over vaccination bungles risks undermining confidence in the program we are relying on to get the economy back to normal.

When the coronavirus pandemic took hold just over a year ago, it was rightly identified by the federal government as both a health and economic crisis.

The two were inextricably linked. In those early, frightening days, when governments both state and federal were struggling to find the bottom and doomsday scenarios were rife, Scott Morrison would often say that if the health problem was solved, then the economy would follow.
