Labor’s plans for speedy disclosure of political donations by big businesses and Rich Listers face strong opposition, as the Greens push for a ban on cash contributions from miners, gambling companies and tobacco giants.

Special Minister of State Don Farrell is seeking a deal on legislation that would slash the disclosure threshold for donations that must be publicly reported from $14,500 to $1000, and for real-time disclosure of donor identities to be introduced for the next election.
