Scott Morrison will raise with Joe Biden the prospect of the United States joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership, as Australia warned it would block China’s request to join the regional trade pact until Beijing restarted dialogue with Canberra and dropped its coercive trade practices.
Mr Morrison, who is due to fly to Washington on Monday for four days of talks dominated by regional security, is expected to sound out Mr Biden over the TPP during their face-to-face meeting scheduled for early on Wednesday morning, Australia time.
