PM rolls out a further $7.4b as April 12 election looms

The Albanese government will roll out $7.4 billion for aged care pay rises and public school funding on Tuesday, as expectation builds the prime minister will call an April 12 election straight after Western Australia goes to the polls on Saturday.

Should Prime Minister Anthony Albanese pull the trigger for April 12, as he intends, he will avoid handing down the budget scheduled for March 25.
