Sydney University politics student Chloe Linstrom doesn’t go to most of her lectures because she has to work three days a week.

The 20-year-old, from Newcastle, instead prefers to watch them online in double speed so she can hold down her job in the public service to pay her weekly rent of $380 for cramped student accommodation with a shared bathroom and kitchen.
