Gladys Berejiklian’s plan to reopen NSW once it reaches a 70 per cent or 80 per cent adult vaccination rate will be compromised unless the spiralling number of daily cases can be reduced to as few as 30, the Premier has conceded.
As the COVID-19 crisis worsened nationally, and NSW reported a record 478 cases and seven deaths in 24 hours, Ms Berejiklian started rowing back the freedoms she signalled last week if NSW reached the target vaccination rates.
