Prime Minister Scott Morrison has stood by his candidate for Warringah, Katherine Deves, dismissing the media scrutiny of her anti-trans social media posts as a “pile on”.

Speaking from Melbourne on Saturday, Mr Morrison said Ms Deves had apologised for her “insensitive” social media posts.
