Non-compete clauses under scrutiny in competition reform

Boosting dynamism in the economy and lowering barriers to labour mobility are key priorities for reform of Australia’s competition policy settings, Treasurer Jim Chalmers says.

Releasing a discussion paper on the next steps for reform of Australia’s national competition policy (NCP), Dr Chalmers and NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookey flagged better use of data and digital technology and reduced reliance on non-compete clauses in employment contracts.
