Near-death experience brings tax lawyer to politics

After Melbourne tax lawyer Michael Sukkar suffered a heart attack while playing basketball, a life in the corporate world began to lose its appeal.

For Sukkar, who counted BHP Billiton and ANZ as clients during his career at law firms Ashurst and PwC, the brush with death was the driving factor in seeking a new career in his other passion: politics.
