Following the release of Tuesday’s surface fleet review, any stuff-ups with naval shipbuilding now firmly belong to the Albanese government.

In one sense, plans to recapitalise the navy’s surface fleet puts a heavier burden of accountability on the government than the acquisition of nuclear-powered submarines.
