National cabinet seeks to end scourge of multiple rail systems

National cabinet is tackling the country’s rail system, in an attempt to finally end the tangled web of trains, rules and other components that has left Australia with 11 different signalling and control systems across 29 networks.
Rail interoperability was one of eight federation reforms which the cabinet has chosen to focus on.
