Muslim Vote opens new fronts against Labor in Western Sydney

The party’s problems in Western Sydney are getting worse as Muslim Vote candidates target Werriwa and Parramatta.

In Western Sydney, some citizens are upset – “incensed” even – and feel taken for granted. Muslim communities, in particular, are mobilising independent candidates to take on political giants Tony Burke and Jason Clare.

Local doctor Ziad Basyouny and pharmacist Ahmed Ouf are taking the Albanese government ministers on in Labor heartland seats, with the backing of The Muslim Vote, a lobby group capitalising on community anger at the government’s response to Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.
