Leading No campaigner Warren Mundine and former NSW transport minister Andrew Constance are among candidates expected to vie for retiring NSW Liberal moderate Marise Payne’s place in the Senate.
Senator Payne, Australia’s first female defence minister, and foreign minister in the Morrison government, announced on Friday she would leave parliament at the end of the month, after 26 years in federal politics.
