Morrison, Albanese spar over energy, wages, China

Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese have clashed over who is best placed to reduce energy costs and manage the economy, with the prime minister claiming Labor’s plan to upgrade transmission lines will drive up power prices in their second leaders’ debate.

As pre-poll voting opens on Monday for the May 21 election, Nine’s leaders’ debate was declared a tie as of 11pm on Sunday, with Mr Albanese and Mr Morrison each gaining 50 per cent of the vote. Viewers who voted were self-selecting, with no weighting attached for demographic differences.
