People receiving the JobSeeker unemployment benefit should supplement their income by being allowed to do more work, rather than having their welfare payment increased, Peter Dutton has argued.

In his budget reply delivered on Thursday night, the opposition leader pledged to wave through the Senate most of the $14.6 billion cost-of-living package but urged the government to consider his proposal to let the unemployed earn an extra $150 a fortnight without their benefit being affected.
