Minns shrugs off fears rail row will hurt Albanese in election

NSW Premier Chris Minns says commuters, not the Labor Party, are his priority after the Albanese government expressed fears over the impact of the state’s dispute with rail unions on its electoral fortunes.

With Prime Minister Anthony Albanese poised to call an election within weeks and the federal opposition demanding it step in to end the standoff, federal Workplace Relations Minister Murray Watt spoke to both parties over the weekend and again on Monday urging a resolution.
