Mental health spike as coronavirus cases slow nationally

Requests for mental health assistance have increased by as much as 40 per cent as Australians struggle with the coronavirus pandemic, a spike coinciding with increased reporting of domestic violence.

Mental health organisation Beyond Blue has reported a steep increase in calls and online requests for help compared with the same period in 2019.
