Melbourne under curfew, playgrounds closed after ‘selfish’ weekend

Melburnians are again under a curfew, playgrounds have closed and essential worker permits are back as the Victorian government tightened and extended the city’s lockdown following a weekend of low compliance with restrictions.
Residents will be shut into their homes from 9pm to 5am from midnight on Monday under the tougher rules, which will run until September 2.
