‘Clive and Pauline’: Palmer sought One Nation deal before Trump pitch

Controversial mining billionaire Clive Palmer has joined the micropolitical party Trumpet of Patriots after failing to strike a deal with Pauline Hanson that would have changed the One Nation name to “The Clive and Pauline Party”.

Palmer’s tie-up offer included $10 million towards the party’s election war chest, and $500,000 towards Hanson’s legal fees in a defamation lawsuit bought by federal Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi, according to One Nation.
