Liberal tensions emerge over party’s sales pitch on economy

Some Liberal MPs believe the Coalition isn’t as prepared as it could be to fight Labor on the economy, citing slim policy offerings and poor communication before the election campaign.

The Coalition has opened up its biggest lead on Labor since 2022, according to the latest The Australian Financial Review/Freshwater Strategy poll, but there is discontent with the game plan, even as the likelihood increases that Opposition Leader Peter Dutton could lead a minority government.
