Indigenous leader Marcia Langton says former prime minister Paul Keating was right about the Voice to parliament being “a mistake from the start” and that a legislated body should have been established before a referendum.
Professor Langton, who was a member of the Albanese government’s referendum working group, told The Australian Financial Review on Wednesday the advisory body should not have been entwined with constitutional recognition.
