The Albanese government will start work next week on legislation to introduce multi-employer bargaining, to the alarm of business. It will also modify the Better Off Overall Test in a bid to fix enterprise bargaining.
Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke gave the commitment following the industrial relations discussion on day one of the Jobs and Skills Summit. He also did not rule out embracing the more substantial industry-wide bargaining.
