How you’re paying for Facebook ads promoting Labor policies

Labor is targeting voters in at-risk marginal electorates in the NSW Hunter region with taxpayer-funded social media ads that spruik its plans to create new industries to support coal workers through the energy transition.

The Albanese government has ratcheted up taxpayer-funded advertising since the start of the year including $100,000 on Facebook and Instagram ads in the past seven days alone, promoting policies such as its $300 energy bill relief and forgiving of student debts.
