Labor invokes Westpac to fend off anti-union bill

The labour movement has invoked the scandal consuming Westpac as it mounts a last-ditch effort to persuade the Senate crossbench to oppose new laws making it easier to deregister supposedly rogue unions and officials.

But a deal as early as this week looks more than likely with the government and Centre Alliance party both happy with amendments proposed by One Nation.
