Labor facing internal backlash on gambling ads

Communications Minister Michelle Rowland is facing growing backbench pressure to introduce a total ban on gambling advertising, with Labor MPs increasingly frustrated over the government’s watered-down position.

Meanwhile, online bookmakers have offered to adopt age verification checks and limit the number of ads users see on social media in a last-ditch attempt to water the policy down even further.
