Labor and Coalition must seek a mandate for reform

After the lost two decades and a half in Canberra, both major parties are bogged down in the “politics of incrementalism”

As things stand at the start of a five-week campaign, a hung parliament remains the most likely outcome on May 3.

Three years of minority government is what most credible polls are predicting and reflects a broader disillusionment with mainstream politics. It would be a fitting result given the uninspiring election platforms the major parties are offering Australians.
