Major federal infrastructure projects will be scrutinised following explosive allegations that construction sites in NSW and Victoria had been infiltrated by underworld figures working for the CFMEU.

Infrastructure Minister Catherine King last week directed her department to review construction projects overseen by government business enterprises, which includes the new Western Sydney Airport and Inland Rail.
